This course will give students a well-rounded view of the entertainment industry and the best marketing practices in movie-making, music recording and concerts, theatrical performance, and publishing. At the same time emphasis will be put on the law affecting film and television talent, musicians, performers, writers and other entertainers as well the law surrounding credit, contracts, compensation, celebrity status (including privacy and publicity rights), First Amendment, intellectual property, and talent representation.
