INTRODUCTION TO
EQUITY MARKETS (3)

This course is a general introduction to equity markets. We focus on the importance of equity markets in today’s global economy, their history and current development. In addition we familiarize students with how companies raise finance through equity issuance, how these financial instruments are traded, and who are the major participants in this market. We shall analyze how the market is regulated and what constitutes ‘best practice’ for professionals operating in the capital markets. The objective of this course is to provide students with a sound understanding of how the capital markets work.
